Panhandle Punk Early 2022 releases: Slut Boys and Human Scarecrow LPs

The Slut Boys were the undisputed godfathers of Tallahassee punk rock, but they eluded the notice of early punk and “Killed By Death” enthusiasts because they lacked a proper vinyl release – until now. "Till I Can't", a limited-edition, full length retrospective album featuring one of the earliest punk bands to hail from North Florida, is slated for the Fall of 2021 early 2022.

“Till I Can’t” will feature:

·       The Slut Boys 1980 four-song demo (No Tomorrow, Mister Stupid, Dogs, Reverend Boykin) remastered for vinyl release.

·       Live versions of more original Slut Boys classics, carefully curated from among hours of old cassettes, and remastered for vinyl release: Keep On Dancing, Woman to Woman, Mr. Stupid Rides Again, Shake Your Ass For Me, Till I Can't and more.

·       A literary tribute to the band penned by Steve Dollar.

·       Cover art and graphics by Bill “Mister Stupid” Otersen.

·       In true Slut Boys fashion, a cover song (Iggy?) or two.

“Till I Can’t” will be offered in a very limited, numbered edition of approximately 200 300 LPs. The first 100 will be on translucent purple vinyl and include a band sticker.

You can check out vintage Slut Boys video footage of the band jamming at their notorious rehearsal space, The OK Club, around 1980 or 1981 here.

On Valentine’s Day 1988, Human Scarecrow (Travis Folmar, J.C.M., Jimmy Bleyer, Will Ryan) recorded a full-length album with Tom Lewis at Georgia Street Studios, but the record was never released and only a lucky few who had cassette copies ever heard this amazing recording.

Panhandle Punk Productions is pressing just 100 copies of this archival release, which will feature an essay on the band by Barry Stock (“That Record Got Me High” podcast) and cover artwork by Jimmy Bleyer. It is also anticipated for a Fall 2021 or early 2022 release, and you can reserve a copy by emailing 80sTallyPunk@gmail.com.
